About Al Shindagah
Al Shindagha, a historic district in Bur Dubai along Dubai Creek, is known for its significant heritage. It's situated between Port Rashid and Al Fahidi, connected by the Shindagha Tunnel on Al Khaleej Road (D92). The former residence of the ruling family, now the Shindagha Museum, is a notable landmark in this historical area. Al Shindagha has played a vital role in Dubai's development since Maktoum bin Butti of the Bani Yas tribe settled there in 1883, leading to Dubai's independence from Abu Dhabi. The district houses various museums and heritage sites. While it doesn't have residential or commercial properties, City Centre Shindagha, developed in 2016, has made it a prominent retail destination.
