The area houses the Queen Elizabeth 2 hotel and is set to include Dubai Mall by the Sea, marina berths, and a canal, aiming to be a premier global coastal destination. Port Rashid, operational since the 1970s as a key commercial port, is being redeveloped into a high-end residential and tourist area with a Dh 25 billion investment plan. This includes a floating yacht club, signature hotel, and shopping complex.
